Is this cutting back on government?

Posted by Gerald on June 9, 2007

In the midst of the overwhelmingly important coverage of Paris Hilton and the judicial system, a story slipped through the cracks.  General Lute had his confirmation hearings for the new “war czar” position.  In the process, he “stunned” the Senators with the job description.  Evidently, he will be taking over advising the President on the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan from the National Security Adviser, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.  Seeing as the wars we are in are kind of the biggest things on the plates for the men in those four jobs, one wonders what they will be doing now?

Ummmm, what happened to leaving the war decisions to “the commanders on the ground?”

The scientifically impossible I do right away
The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer
